The Bar Harbor Historical Society provides visitors with an opportunity to view artifacts and exhibits from the town's rich history. Located in the heart of downtown, the museum is just West of the Mt. Desert Island Hospital. Permanent exhibits include a presentation on the Great Fire of 1947.
